Established in 1990 by owners James and Elizabeth Quinn Ashfield Golf Course is an 18 hole Championship size Golf Course covering over 100 acres of Parkland. With the establishment of Ashfield, James and Elizabeth brought golf to South Armagh. The Club was formed the same year, and since then both Management and successive Club Committees have worked tirelessly to establish Ashfield as the areas premier golfing facility.
Since its foundation the Course has matured into what is now considered one of the finest Golf Courses in County Armagh, if not Ulster.
Heavy investment in the grounds has included the planting of thousands of native trees which now tower between the fairways, the creation of man made water hazards, and a state of the art sprinkler system which helps keep the Greens lush in even the driest of Summers.
In 2005 work was completed on the new Clubhouse at Ashfield. The building which replaced the temporary Clubrooms has a solid Oak curved Bar, Lounge area complete with snug and fireplace, and Kitchen with a Restaurant capable of seating for up to 120 diners. The Clubhouse also has a Sauna, Male and Female Changing Rooms and a Committee room.
This substantial £1,000,000+ investment was entirely privately funded by the Quinn family and is a testament to their confidence in, and commitment to the future of Ashfield.
As one would expect for such a facility our Membership is very solid with in excess of 400 Members, the majority being Male, but also substantial numbers of Female and Juvenile.
Aside from Members we also have well in excess of two thousand non-Members who play Ashfield every year, divided between individual Green Fee payers and those who come in Golf Society groups.
