The fishable section of this old Ship Canal runs from Newry to the Sea Locks on the Omeath Road, which is approximately 3.5 miles.
Bream, Rudd, Pike, Pearch, Eel and Trout. Season runs all year round. All legal methods of fishing are permitted. Licence required is Foyle, Carlingford and Irish Lights Commission Licence. There is no permit requirement.
Access can be gained from the Newry to Omeath road – B79, with parking facilities at Victoria Lock Gates.
