Clay Lake is known for its large Perch, heavy Pike, and Rudd.

Season runs throughout the year and all lawful methods of fishing are permitted with the exception of maggots and bround bait. Bag limit of 1 Pike per day and any over 4kg must be returned.

Over 18's require Fisheries Conservancy Board Licence and Coarse Fishing Rod Licence, under 18's require none. Over 18's require DCAL Fishing Permit, under 18's require none.
