Below you will find a few suggested routes which will take you on a trail offering you a taste of the rich Christian Heritage on offer in South Armagh.
Christian Heritage (Half Day Tour)
- 09.30am Depart for Killevy Old Churches.
- 10.30am Visit Faughart and Kilnasaggart Pillar Stone, this is perhaps the oldest cross-inscribed stone in Ireland.
- 11.45am Depart for Creggan 'An Creagan' meaning the rocky place, is a little hamlet surrounding the picturesque Creggan Parish Church and Graveyard which is home to the famous O'Neill Family Vault, and adjacent Poets' Glen and river. Tours can be catered for at pre-arranged times.
- 1.45pm Visit Cullyhanna - and on to the the Áras an Chairdineil Ó Fiaich Heritage Centre for tea/coffee and tour.
- 2.30pm Depart for Armagh City
Christian Heritage (1 Day Tour)
- 9.30am Depart for Killevy Old Churches.
- 10.30am Visit Kilnasaggart Pillar Stone and Faughart. This is perhaps the oldest cross-inscribed stone in Ireland.

- 12.30pm Lunch in Ma Keraneys, Crossmaglen
- 1.30pm Visit the the Áras an Chairdineil Ó Fiaich Heritage Centre for guided tour.
- 2.45pm Depart for Armagh City.
- 3.15pm Arrive at Navan Fort for tour of centre.
- 4.00pm Depart for Tynan High Crosses. Tynan is home to a group of four High Crosses, known as the Tynan Crosses, which date from the 10th century.
- (Sunday only - alternative to Armagh; depart for Jonesborough Market after lunch.)
Christian Heritage (2 Day Itinerary)
DAY 1
- 10.00am Depart from Monaghan - visit Donagh Graveyard.
- 11.30am Visit Tynan High Crosses - the parish of Tynan is of great antiquity. This picturesque village is the home to a group of four High Crosses, known as the Tynan Crosses, which date from the 10th century.
- 1.30pm Lunch in Armagh
- 2.30pm Visit the Roman Catholic Church.
- 3.30pm Visit the Church of Ireland Cathedral.
- 4.15pm Depart Armagh, and visit the Áras an Chairdineil Ó Fiaich Heritage Centre for tour.
- 5.30pm Overnight in South Armagh in on of many high quality B&B's or Self Catering establishments with an evening of traditional music.
DAY 2
- 9.30am Depart for Creggan 'An Creagan' meaning the rocky place, is a little hamlet surrounding the picturesque Creggan Parish Church and Graveyard which is home to the famous O'Neill Family Vault, and adjacent Poets' Glen and river. Tours can be catered for at pre-arranged times.
- 10.30am Visit Faughart and Kilnasaggart Pillar Stone, this is perhaps the oldest cross-inscribed stone in Ireland.
- 11.30am Depart for Killevy Old Churches, Meigh.
- 1.30pm Depart for St. Mochtua's House, Louth, situated in a field beside the village.
- 3.15pm Visit St. Mary's Priory, Louth, this dates from the 14th century.
